About Punjab Mera Ghar Mera Naam Scheme 2021
The chief minister of Punjab Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi launched the Punjab Mera Ghar Mera Naam scheme on 11th October 2021. Around 12700 villages will be covered under this scheme. Lal Dora is basically a village or town settlement that comprises a cluster of houses where residents live. The residents of Lal Dora were not having ownership rights but this scheme will provide them the ownership rights. For this purpose, the revenue department will carry out a drone survey in rural and urban areas for Digital Mapping. The entire process of providing property rights will be completed within 2 months.
Verification And Allotment Of Property Card
After completing the survey proper verification of eligible residents will be carried out. After that property card will be handed over to the beneficiaries. Before handing over property cards 15 days time will be allotted for filing their objections. In this regard, if no reply is received from them then the property card will be issued which would serve the purpose of a registry against which property owners can get loans from the bank and even sell their property. Other than that, those people who are residing in houses in old localities for a long generation would also be covered under this scheme. This scheme is basically an extension of centerl’s swamitva Yojana.
NRIs will also be informed to raise objections so as to give property rights to them. Other than that in order to safeguard the property rights of NRIs who are settled across the globe the Chief Minister is also going to bring legislation in order to prevent illegal or fraudulent sale of their properties.
